The Shot Indicating Resetting Trigger (SIRT) Pistol is a training tool used in several of our classes to allow students to demonstrate safe gun handling and practice the fundamentals of marksmanship on a virtual range, before we go to the live fire range. Major Defense also uses the Laserlyte target to give feedback on proper sight alignment and sight picture. We set up our virtual range using the Laser Activated Shot Reporter (LASR) software that allow us to produce shot sound effects when the SIRT pistol is fired and record all the shots on the target. Using a webcam the software captures the laser impact on the targets and displays the hits on our laptop.
We use our SIRT pistols and LASR software in our NRA Pistol Marksmanship Simulator Training course, the Major Defense Basic Pistol Orientation, and the USCCA's Basic Handgun and Concealed Carry courses.
To practice using dry fire and have a visual confirmation you are hitting the target get your own SIRT gun and practice anywhere at home without having to worry about an accidental discharge. They come in two full size models the Glock 17 and Smith and Wesson M&P, and one compact resembling a M&P Shield or the Ruger LC9. Click on the link below to purchase yours.
Safe, effective, and innovative, the Shot Indicating Resetting Trigger (SIRT) Training Pistol was developed by shooters for shooters, to complement, not replace, live fire training.
