Any of the Basic Pistol Shooting courses listed will meet the training requirement for the Florida Concealed Carry license. However, the USCCA's Concealed Carry Course will teach you about the lethal use of force, and violent encounters and their aftermath.
Yes. Florida law requires the instructor to witness the student's safe handling of the firearm. The NRA is more demanding and requires the student to demonstrate the basic safety and marksmanship skills taught in class.
No. However, anyone that owns a firearm should be a members. The NRA is the largest of the pro gun organizations that represent your rights under the 2nd Amendment. They work at the city, state and federal level to support good legislation and oppose the bad legislation. They brought the law suits in Chicago and the District of Columbia on the behalf of local citizens that went to the Supreme Court and affirmed their second amendment rights. In addition to receiving one of three great magazines, you get $2500 in ArmsCare insurance, and a $5000 Accidental Death policy. The USCCA has two options receive the magazine or get the magazine and one of three Defense Shield insurance plans.
The state law requires that you be 21 in order to qualify for the Florida Concealed Weapons and Firearms License. Our classes are offered to just about any age but I recommend they be 10 or older. For any students under 18 several conditions must be met.
1. Parent’s permission and attendance is mandatory.
2. The student must be able to handle firing the firearm; physically and mentally.
3. The instructor reserves the right to reject any student regardless of age.
